The integrated ability to use the skills necessary to perform a task with ease

This becomes the ultimate controlling aspect of all the basic skills involved in the 5 F's of Vision. How we interact with our world is the ultimate goal as an integration of these visual skills. The higher levels of memory, both short and long term are often addressed. Being able to process quickly information seen is another necessary skill. Each program of a patient is individualized to address, not only the analysis of what needs to be available but what skills in particular are requirements to enhance their lives such as a patients personal goals, sports, hobbies, reading, grades, night driving, reaction time, or general life enrichment.

"Thinking Slows Down Intelligence"

We want to move from thinking about what we are doing, to a level of knowing what to do with no conscience thought of what is being done. We just need to know that we know, because when we know, we just know!

Space awareness of where things are in space, compared to where we are in in relationship to space. Many developmental skills may be addressed during this aspect of therapy. There is no natural awareness of the brain to know right and left. Many learning difficulties stem from confusion of the b and d, or p and q. If looked at more critically here, the only real difference is the right and left or the up and down. If a person has never developed this space awareness, no matter how much practice of writing b's or d's will not integrate, until the base programming of directionality from the locomotion levels of learning have taken place and then substituted in the visual system.

All the receptors of the eye do is receive in effect the light signal to the optic nerve to the brain. This would then be processed as a vertical line and a circle positioned somewhere adjacent to the circle. The eyesight may have been normal, but the perception and understanding of the shape would have caused a great deal of confusion. Many times a label such as Dyslexia, is placed on this lack of visual skill and perception. These apply equally to adults as well as children in developing the necessary skills of enhancement.
